You Won’t Want To Miss The Annual Holiday Boat Parade

Holiday Boat Parade

The oldest boat parade in Florida is coming back for yet another year. It’s the Greater Pompano Beach and Lighthouse Point Holiday Boat Parade, and it will set sail on Dec. 14 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The parade moves along the Intracoastal Waterway, passing through four cities along the way. You will find multiple spots for watching the parade along the route, or you can register your vessel and participate.

Participating in the Parade

This might come as a surprise, but the parade is open to all watercraft, and you can register for free. You can enter a huge yacht, or you can enter your canoe. After you register, you’ll get information about the captain’s safety meeting. You do have to attend that to participate in the parade.

Don’t just take your boat as is. You’ll need to add some lights to your boat so it’ll stand out during the night, but don’t stop there. Go all out with holiday decorations. Judges will score the boats, and there will be various prizes. If you want to take home a prize, you need to go the extra mile.

The Kick-Off

Be sure to get there on time so you can listen to the performance of the national anthem. Marjorie Stoneman Douglas student Samantha Grady will perform the anthem. During the kick-off, you’ll also get to meet the parade’s grand marshal. Then, it will be time for those ships to set sail.

It’s fun to take a boat down the Intracoastal Waterway, but your boat can’t get you everywhere you need to go. Sometimes, you need to get behind the wheel of a car, truck, or SUV and navigate the roads. Make those road trips as much fun as trips on the water with a new ride from Hendrick Honda of Pompano Beach in Pompano Beach, Florida. You’ll have a blast driving your new Honda.
